To get the pen to re-pair just hold down the eraser button for seven seconds until a light starts flashing on the clip, and then go to Bluetooth and pair the device “Surface Pro Pen” I just de-paired and then paired the pen again in one note.
This didn’t work in my case, but was an easy fix.
